Haloroc Technologies announces completion of merger with Onager Energy Management

HOUSTON, April 24, 2018 /PRNewswire-iReach/ — Haloroc Technologies, a subsidiary of Haloroc Holdings, is pleased to announced the completion of a merger with Onager Energy Management (“Onager”). Haloroc Technologies, which controls a substantial acreage position in the Austin Chalk formation as well as a suite of proprietary digital ledger solutions, and Onager, an energy investment firm, have contributed their assets into a newly formed entity named HB2 Inc. HB2 Inc will combine asset-ownership, field operations, financial management, and technology solutions for industry under a single umbrella in an effort to better serve our customers and investors.

Michael Bertuccio, a 28-year natural resources industry veteran, is the Chief Executive Officer of HB2 Inc. Mr. Bertuccio began his career as a merchant in the global physical oil and petrochemical industry, evolving upstream to crude oil and feedstocks and the wholesale power markets as merchant, marketer, banker and asset owner. Prior to founding Onager Energy in 2016, he was the Head of Principal Investments & Origination for Glencore, one of the world’s largest globally diversified natural resource companies. Prior to Glencore, Mr. Bertuccio was a Managing Director and Head of Structured Oil at J.P. Morgan. Prior to J.P. Morgan, Mr. Bertuccio worked for several trading entities including Vitol, BP and Mitsubishi International, and has served on the boards of North Asset Management and Clarksons Shipping Fund. Mr. Bertuccio is a graduate of Harvard University.

Dr. Jacob Smith, Head of Quantitative Research. Dr. Smith is responsible for creating fundamental and financial research using empirical and analytical tools. Prior to joining Onager, Dr. Smith worked for Caesars Entertainment, the world’s largest gaming operator. His responsibilities at Caesars included revenue and occupancy forecasting, marketing and operations optimization, as well as odds calculation for new games and promotions. His additional professional experience includes the application of rigorous quantitative methods to problems as diverse as airline routing, pricing, and overbooking, inventory control and plant optimization. Dr. Smith earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Political Science from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, IA. He holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and a PhD in Economics from the University of Houston. His research focuses on Time Series Analysis and Financial Econometrics.

Glen Davis, Executive Vice President of Technology. Mr. Davis has worked as an IT professional supporting the financial and physical trading industries for his entire 24 year career. Mr. Davis began his career with Reuters as a Systems Support Engineer with a focus on Solaris UNIX servers. He joined Vitol, an energy and commodities company, in 2006 to work on a wide range IT projects and ultimately served as the main contact for all trading and market data products. He was responsible for numerous product rollouts, including those to support remote branches. Glen graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Electronic Engineering Technology from Chicago’s DeVry Institute of Technology.

Jimmy Parmar, Business Analyst. Mr. Parmar recently joined Onager Energy Management as a Natural Resources Analyst. Before Onager, Mr. Parmar worked as a Natural Gas Fundamental Analyst with Ouray Energy Management, where he was responsible for building out a lower 48 supply and demand balance sheet in addition to monitoring the basis markets. His previous experience includes an analyst position at Iberdrola Renewables, building regional supply and demand models, and a natural gas trading analyst role at Direct Energy. Mr. Parmar graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics.
