When the opportunity to purchase the Seabasket Restaurant in Wiscasset, ME became available he didn’t hesitate.

The restaurant, which has served some of Maine’s best seafood since the early 1980’s, is easily accessible on Route 1 in Wiscasset. Homemade chowder, cole slaw and onion rings are just a few of the customer favorites. The fried clams are award-winning and the lobster stew is made with local fresh picked tail, claw and knuckle meat straight from the ocean.

It’s no surprise that Rylant and the restaurant were just awarded “Best of the Best” for Midcoast Maine’s Best Seafood Restaurant by Market Surveys of America.

The kitchen has been newly updated with a state-of-the art convection frying system so the food cooks with crispier coatings. A new outdoor seating area has been added, and Rylant promises additional upgrades in the near future.

The staff remains the same and Louis can be found there on his day off from his other job as General Manager of Jaffarian Toyota in Haverhill, MA.
