BNC Bancorp Announces Receipt of Merger Regulatory Approvals

HIGH POINT, N.C., June 3, 2016 /PRNewswire/ — BNC Bancorp (the “Company,”) (NASDAQ: BNCN), the holding company for Bank of North Carolina, today announced it has received all the necessary regulatory approvals from the Federal Reserve Board, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (“FDIC”), the North Carolina Officer of the Commissioner of Banks and the South Carolina State Board of Financial Institutions for the previously announced merger transaction between the Company and Southcoast Financial Corporation (NASDAQ: SOCB), the holding company for Southcoast Community Bank. The transaction has also been approved by the shareholders of Southcoast. The Company expects to close the transaction on June 17, 2016.
