Oxford Industries (OXM) in Focus: Stock Tumbles 8.4%

Zacks

Oxford Industries Inc. OXM saw a big move last session, as the company’s shares fell over 8% on the day. The move came on pretty good volume too with far more shares changing hands than in a normal session. Notably, OXM gained more than 11% from Nov 17 to Dec 8, before it slumped over 8% yesterday.

On Dec 8, the company reported third-quarter fiscal 2015 adjusted loss per share of 8 cents, compared to adjusted earnings per share of 12 cents in the year-ago quarter.

The apparel company has seen a flat track record when it comes to current year estimate revisions over the past few weeks and the consensus for earnings hasn’t been in a trend either. This recent price action is discouraging, so make sure to keep a close watch on this firm in the near future, and especially on earnings estimates following the recent slump.

OXM currently has a Zacks Rank #4 (Sell).

A better-ranked stock in the same sector is Hanesbrands Inc. HBI, holding a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy).
