Cameron International (CAM) Beats on Q3 Earnings & Revenues

Houston, TX-based Cameron International Corporation CAM is a leading manufacturer of pressure control equipment used in onshore, offshore, and subsea applications for oil and gas drilling, production, and transmission. The company operates under four business segments: Subsea, Surface, Drilling, and Valves and Measurement (V&M).

Currently, Cameron has a Zacks Rank #5 (Strong Sell) but that could change following its third-quarter 2015 results which has just released. We have highlighted some of the key details from the just-released announcement below:

Earnings: The company reported earnings per share – excluding discontinued operations and special items – of $1.18, beating the Zacks Consensus Estimate of 81 cents.

Revenue: Revenues of $2,208 million surpass the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $2,169 million.

Key Stats: Subsea segment operating income jumped 173% year over year to $120 million. Surface segment operating income came 53.3% lower to $49 million. Operating income from the Drilling unit slipped 8.2% to $146 million. Income from the V&M segment fell 44.2% to $58 million.
