Alaska Air Group ALK, is the holding company of Alaska Airlines, which, together with its partner regional airlines, serves more than 100 cities through North America. The company is headquartered in Seattle, Washington.

Zacks Rank: Currently, Alaska Air Group has a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy), but that could definitely change following the company’s earnings report which was just released. We have highlighted some of the key stats from this just-revealed announcement below:

Earnings: Alaska Air Group reported earnings (on an adjusted basis) of $2.16 per share in the third quarter of 2015 beating the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $2.08. Earnings increased 47% compared to the third quarter of 2014.

Revenue: Revenues came in at $1.52 billion, marginally beating the Zacks Consensus Estimate. The top line grew 3% on a year-over-year basis.

Key stats: The company repurchased 1.6 million shares for $119 million in the third quarter of 2015. The carrier shelled out a quarterly cash dividend worth $0.20 per-share on Aug 14, 2015. The payout represented a 60% increase over the dividend paid in the third quarter of 2014.
