Air Products to Launch Surfynol 107L at Abrafati 2015

Zacks

Air Products & Chemicals Inc. APD declared that its Materials Technologies segment will launch molecular defoamers and dynamic wetting agents – Surfynol 107L – at the Oct 13-15 Associacao Brasileira dos Fabricantes de Tintas (ABRAFATI) in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Surfynol 107L surfactant is the newest addition to the company’s portfolio.

Surfynol 107L is a liquid nonionic wetting agent and molecular defoamer based on a proprietary high-performance Gemini chemistry. It does not contain added alkylphenol ethoxylates (APEs), silicones, or fluorosurfactants, and is appropriate for low- and zero-VOC formulations. This non foaming unique chemistry offers a number of surface active performance benefits, and also provides defect-free defoaming and deaerating benefits.

Air Products has been persistently expanding its molecular defoamer product line and the launch of Surfynol 107L will enable the company to offer formulators a number of options to address their foam control and surface wetting needs.

Last week, the company declared that it will launch three more SmartFuel hydrogen fueling stations in California in October. The three stations will come onstream along with 25 other hydrogen fueling stations that involve Air Products and are currently in the construction, planning or permitting phase.

Air Products carries a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold).

Some better-ranked companies in the diversified chemical space include Koppers Holdings Inc. KOP, Celanese Corp. CE and Arkema S.A. ARKAY. While Koppers sports a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy), both Celanese and Arkema hold a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy).
