CARLSBAD, Calif., Oct. 13, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — Habitat Restoration Sciences Inc. (HRS) announced today that it has acquired Restoration Resources of Rocklin, California to create the largest California-based native habitat restoration construction firm in the state. With the acquisition, Carlsbad, California-based HRS has 120 employees throughout California working on restoration and mitigation construction projects involving native plant habitat, wildlife habitat, and wetlands.

Both firms are privately-held and terms were not disclosed.

Mark Girard, HRS president, said the two firms have teamed on projects for several years. “HRS has a well-established reputation for helping clients construct successful habitat mitigation projects that achieve required regulatory agency sign-off on schedule,” Girard said. “Restoration Resources adds more than 30 years’ experience in design-build projects and deep client relationships in northern and central California, including the San Francisco Bay/Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta. Combining the firms allows us to offer clients significant cost savings, efficiency, and expertise on California habitat restoration projects.”

Last year, HRS was recognized by the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency with a “Best in Basin” award for the firm’s reconstruction of Lower Blackwood Creek to protect a critical rainbow trout spawning area and to halt bank erosion that was increasing sediment in Lake Tahoe.
