PPG Industries, Inc.’s PPG Pittsburgh Paints & Stains, a brand of PPG Architectural Coatings, has unveiled Digital Inspiration Studio – a new interactive color center at Menards retail locations. The new retail palette renews the way homeowners select paint colors with its interactive 42-inch digital touchscreen that simplifies the process of choosing colors.
The touchscreen, which serves customers as a creative launchpad for an entire paint project, enables them to paint a room virtually with the color of their choice. It also helps customers to view the color on a larger scale, as well as receive an email with the paint swatches and painted room for later use. It further includes tips on colors, associated videos, product information, enabling browsing by color, style and personality, and so on.
The technology behind the touchscreen has recently qualified for the 2015 CIO 100 Award. The color center, which is present in all Menards stores, features a nine-foot-long color library with 1,081 color swatches and all-new brochures separated by color. Every color can be viewed on the touchscreen by scanning a barcode on each swatch and brochure.
The color center also features complementary colors and virtual painting of brochure room images in different colors. The technology further provides guides for room-wise projects with different styles and information on the use of colors. Additionally, the color center features 2016 color trends.
According to Luke Klein, brand manager of Pittsburgh Paints & Stains, with such a large selection of colors available, homeowners will have a stimulating experience that not only helps them select paint colors for their homes, but also for professional projects. The Digital Inspiration Studio makes choosing colors both inspiring and manageable.
