Columbia Sportswear Makes More Management Changes

Sportswear retailer Columbia Sportswear Inc. COLM recently made certain changes in its management level to boost overall growth of the company.

After promoting several top officials in May 2015, the apparel retailer’s wholly owned subsidiary Mountain Hardwear Inc. named Scott Kerslake as the interim brand president. He will replace Topher Gaylord, who has been in office since Mar 2010 and will retire soon.

While serving in his new post, Kerslake will continue in his current position as the Chief Executive Officer of the prAna brand. He was appointed to this post in 2009.

In his illustrious career, Kerslake has built strong brands and was the co-founder and CEO of the Athleta brand from 1997 to 2004.

Meanwhile, the company intends to conduct a global search for a permanent president for Mountain Hardwear.

The current announcement closely follows the company’s decision to promote several leaders in its top management level. Among them the promotion of Lisa Kulok, to the position of senior vice president of global supply chain operations, and Steve Woodside, to the post of senior vice president of global sourcing and manufacturing deserve mention. The company believes that its new leaders will continue to drive growth.

The leading apparel and footwear designer reported strong first-quarter 2014 results on Apr 29 wherein both earnings and sales beat expectations. Following better-than-expected results, the company raised the fiscal 2014 outlook.
