Helen of Troy’s HELE wholly owned subsidiary Healthy Directions confirmed the efficacy of its natural, age-fighting moisturizer — Trilane Retinol + Vitamin C. The effectiveness of the cream was confirmed after a study conducted by AMA Laboratories, Inc.

The study was conducted for 28 days and comprised a self-assessed questionnaire and photographic effectiveness analysis.

12 women aged 44-59 answered the questionnaire. The consumer perception survey was conducted on the subjects on the 7th day after using the product and again on the 28th day. Results showed that in majority of cases the cream improved the overall condition of the skin in the facial area.

Photographic effectiveness survey conducted on a group of five women, aged 48–59 also generated positive results.

Helen of Troy acquired U.S.-based retailer and health publisher Healthy Directions, LLC and its subsidiaries for a cash transaction worth $195 million in Jul 2014. The takeover facilitated Helen of Troy’s entry into the vitamins, minerals and supplements (VMS) category.

In this regard, the consumer products company acquired subsidiaries like Kaz (healthcare devices and home comfort products) in Dec 2010 and PUR (manufacturer of water purifier) a year later from The Procter & Gamble Co.
