Atmel's distinctive, proprietary single-layer pattern enables a borderless and futuristic industrial design for advanced handsets. The maXTouch controllers deliver advanced algorithms, which coupled with Atmel's adaptive sensing technology, facilitate virtual edge keys and sliders. OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) are thus able to leverage with new UI (User Interface) concepts and revolutionize the way users interact with their smartphones.
The controllers can support up to 10 touches with wake-up gesture libraries and excellent calibration recovery, thus allowing robust touch performance and exceptional noise immunity. The company’s single-layer on-cell solution leverages its patented sensor designs and innovative software algorithms, to deliver unmatched touch performance. Atmel’s unique, proprietary single-layer pattern enabled a bezel-free design in nubia Z9 smartphone, which gives the illusion of a borderless display.
