Leading microcontroller and touch solutions provider Atmel Corporation ATML declared that ASUS has chosen Atmel's maXTouch controllers to power the touchscreen and active stylus pen of its freshly-launched 10.1" Z300 tablet. The ASUS Z300 tablet will use Atmel's maXTouch and maXStylus controllers, which is one of the industry's highly developed capacitive stylus.
ASUS’ 10.1" Z300 tablet is an on-cell touchscreen featuring a capacitive active stylus pen support which allows an experience equivalent to 'pen-to-paper' writing, thereby enabling more content generation. On-cell displays allow thinner designs for advanced mobile products.
Atmel’s new maXStylus mXTS220 is an active pen featuring noise immunity, which enables it to perform in the high display noise surroundings produced by ultra-thin on-cell stackups.
On the other hand, the touchscreen on ASUS’ 10.1" Z300 tablet is powered by Atmel's maXTouch T-series touchscreen controller, which comprises a sensing architecture that is a mixture of both mutual and self-capacitance to boost the performance.
Both maXStylus and maXTouch mix impeccably to generate a flawless user experience by enhancing the touch performance of the tablet.
Since ASUS is a leading provider of mobile devices in the global market, the selection of its maXTouch controllers for the tablet is a great win for Atmel, especially when the demand for touchscreen controllers is growing at an increasing rate.
Atmel currently has a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold). Better-ranked stocks in the semiconductor industry that are worth a look now include Ambarella, Inc. AMBA, Cirrus Logic Inc. CRUS and Silicon Motion Technology Corp. SIMO, each carrying a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy).
