The Dow Chemical Company’s DOW business unit, Dow Electronic Materials announced that it is showcasing its emerging technologies in the field of display at Society for Information Display (“SID”) Display Week, in San Jose, CA. The SID Display week, which runs from May 31 to Jun 5, is a global event that features developments in electronic display technology every year.
Per the company, senior management at Dow Electronic Materials highlighted the entire business portfolio along with OLED emitting materials, display materials for touch screens and display films on Jun 1. The materials on display include Dow’s TREVISTA Quantum Dots, which can be modified to cater to a wider color palette and improved color saturation to suit customer requirements. Per the company’s claims, the TREVISTA Quantum Dots technology provides an entirely new color experience to viewers on LCD displays, addressing emerging trends and meeting the performance demand of next-generation electronic devices.
In this context, Dow mentioned its global licensing agreement with Nanoco Group PLC for its cadmium-free quantum dot technology. This endows Dow with sole global rights to sell, market and produce Nanoco’s cadmium-free quantum dots for use in electronic displays.
