QuickLogic Adds to Sensor Hub Family with ArcticLink 3 S2 LP

Zacks

QuickLogic Corporation QUIK, a developer of low-power customizable semiconductor solutions, expanded its family of ultra-low power programmable sensor hubs with the addition of the ArcticLink 3 S2 LP. The new platform is the lowest-power programmable sensor hub on the market.

The platform has active power consumption of just 75uWatts (68uA @ 1.1V), reducing the power requirements on the host system by nearly 50% as compared to the standard S2. It also consumes radically less power than competing MCU-based sensor hub solutions.

Its low power feature enhances user experience by extending battery life and allowing more time between recharging for smartphones and wearables. Also, the device is compatible with QuickLogic's comprehensive portfolio of SenseMe sensor algorithms as well as algorithms developed by OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) and third parties.

The ArcticLink 3 S2 LP will empower designers to include more features and capabilities to smartphones and wearable devices, thus designing feature-rich, sensor-based devices with exceptional battery life.

QuickLogic develops and markets low-power customizable semiconductor solutions for smartphones, tablets, wearable devices and mobile enterprise products. QuickLogic’s complete, distinctive solutions lend momentum to OEMs in heralding new wearable applications to market.

QuickLogic presently carries a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold). Some better-ranked semiconductor players include Amkor Technology, Inc. AMKR, Avago Technologies Ltd. AVGO and Cirrus Logic Inc. CRUS, each sporting a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy).
