Ecolab Inc. ECL, recently announced that its 3D TRASAR CIP (Clean-in-Place) technology has received the ‘Product of the Year’ award from the Environmental Leader magazine.
Ecolab’s 3D TRASAR CIP program combines Nalco’s 3D Trasar technology with Ecolab’s CIP expertise. Notably, Nalco was acquired by Ecolab in Dec 2011. Following the acquisition, this technology was incorporated into Ecolab’s Global Water segment division.
The 3D TRASAR CIP program utilizes advanced sensors, cleaning chemistries and analytical software, in combination with Ecolab’s CIP service, to drive an efficient CIP process in food and beverage processing plants.
Food processing is usually a complex procedure, often resulting in huge amounts of data that can be difficult for companies to analyze in a short span of time. The program provides adequate insight to help deliver optimal results with respect to food safety and quality standards.
The 3D TRASAR CIP technology looks to utilize advanced sensors to monitor traced chemistry in CIP apparatus and point out variances in the system. Once the variances are detected, the company’s experts guide their customers to improve the efficiency of CIP and safeguard the quality of the food.
Ecolab’s recognition from Environmental Leader came after a panel of independent judges decided that the 3D TRASAR CIP program scores high as an innovative product and has the potential to benefit the overall food and beverage industry.
Industries tend to rely heavily on CIP these days as the process, besides being much less labor-intensive, also reduces chances of chemical exposure for people executing it. Moreover, it allows less wastage of water and energy.
