NEW YORK, Jan. 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — Dr. David Greuner and Dr. Adam Tonis, co-founders of NYC Surgical Associates and DGAT Medical Management are pleased to announce that their affiliate, Centers for Special Surgery (“CSS”), has signed an agreement to acquire a 90% interest in an ambulatory surgery center whereby the individual members of CSS will become licensed by the New York State Department of Health in their individual capacities. The 5,000 square foot Class C single operating room ambulatory surgery center (“ASC”) is located in Rockland County, NY.

Completion of the transaction is subject to the approval of New York State’s Public Health and Health Planning Council and the New York State Department of Health. Surgery center management is also applying to the New York State Department of Health to become licensed for an additional operating room, which would fit within the existing floor plan of the facility operated by Advanced. It is anticipated that the transaction will close within 12 months, depending on the time required for New York State Department of Health’s approval.

NYC Surgical Associates (“NYCSA”), expects to open a medical office in the same building as the ambulatory surgery center and will take over responsibility for managing the center.

Dr. Greuner is a double board certified surgeon and the co-founder and managing director of NYC Surgical Associates. He cofounded DGAT Management with his longtime partner Dr. Adam Tonis as a one stop solution to address all weak links plaguing most surgical / procedural practices today. Dr. Greuner and Dr. Tonis are co-founders of the Centers For Special Surgery.

Dr. Tonis is the Chief Operating Officer for NYC Surgical, with over 20 years’ experience in running medical offices in the Tri-State area. Dr. Tonis has initiated and scaled medical offices from their inception to the point of expansion and administrative automation.
