Information technology (“IT”) company CGI Group Inc. (GIB) was awarded an outsourcing contract by Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Europe for managing its IT infrastructure.
The five-year contract, valued at €17 million (around $20.2 million), entails CGI Group to employ its Remote Infrastructure Management approach to manage Mitsubishi’s IT infrastructure from its data center in Bremen. Mitsubishi devises and builds fossil fuel facilities globally.
CGI Group will leverage its global delivery capabilities and proven expertise to deliver single-source IT infrastructure management services.
Remote Infrastructure Management has many advantages in management of core processes, and facilitates highly resourceful, flexible and efficient operational services. The contract will also streamline Mitsubishi’s cost structure, potentially resulting in considerable cost savings.
Last November, CGI Group fortified its long-term alliance with limited liability life insurance company AMF as they signed a new IT infrastructure services contract. Per the contract, CGI Group will provide comprehensive support to AMF in its transition phase under which the latter is phasing out its large-scale legacy systems and replacing them with a more sophisticated IT platform.
Notably, CGI Group is the fifth largest independent IT and business process services firm globally. It provides a comprehensive range of IT services and solutions that help clients stay ahead of the curve in a fast-evolving and competitive business scenario.
