Ericsson (ERIC) extended its managed services alliance with Yoigo to provide support to this Spanish network for three additional years. Ericsson will continue to offer tools, processes and teams to Yoigo for enhancing the latter’s customer experience through better 2G, 3G, HSPA and 4G services.
Notably, the company has been assisting Yoigo ever since this Spanish telecom operator began operations in 2006. For Ericsson, the agreement will pave the way for expanding its global expertise and technology leadership in the nation. Additionally, this will strengthen the company’s alliance with Yoigo.
As a matter of fact, with the emergence of the Smartphones market and subsequent usage of mobile broadband, the user demand for coverage speed and quality has increased in the recent times. Further, to maintain superior performance as traffic increases, there is a continuous need for network tuning and optimization. Ericsson, being one of the premier telecom services providers, is much in demand among operators to expand network coverage and upgrade networks for higher speed and capacity.
Last week, the company collaborated with Telefónica Peru to provide internet connectivity to the Peruvian Amazon region of Latin America, in the coming year (Ericsson-Telefonica to Boost Lifestyle in Peruvian Amazon). Also, Ericsson penned a framework contract with Ethio Telecom to help the latter in enhancing the performance and capacity of its 2G/3G network in Ethiopia (Ericsson-Ethio Telecom to Boost 2G/3G Network in Ethiopia).
