PPG Industries Inc.’s (PPG) renowned architectural glass brand, SOLARBAN has been featured in two of Los Angeles’ landmark skyscrapers, Citigroup Center and KPMG Tower, celebrating the completion of 50 historic years of the glass brand.

These two buildings, constructed during the oil crisis of the 1970s, were among the first towers to showcase the SOLARBAN glass. This architectural glass, with its own legacy, has maintained its brand power over the years. The SOLARBAN brand specializes in high-performance solar control and low-emissivity (low-e) glasses, blending in PPG’s patent triple-glazed silver coating technology which can transmit daylight, block solar heat and thereby, reduce heating, cooling and lighting demands.

This product beautifies constructed buildings with a design that provides heating and cooling cost savings throughout the year. Moreover, Solarban 60 glass is featured in downtown Los Angeles by the futuristic California Department of Transportation (CalTrans) District 7 Headquarters.
