Unisys (UIS) to Modernize New Zealand’s Tenancy Services

Zacks

The New Zealand subsidiary of leading information technology company, Unisys Corporation (UIS), recently announced that it has been selected by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) to modernize the nation's tenancy bond system into an online service. This modernization includes a fully integrated and automated system hosted on New Zealand government's infrastructure-as-a-service. The new system is expected to go operational in late 2015 with ongoing information technology support by Unisys through 2019.

The new system will give greater choice of payment methods to agency, landlords and tenants to facilitate easy review of tenancy bond histories. This online service will allow companies and landlords with a convenient payment method, which includes credit card and online payments, thus eliminating the need for manual paper work for and tenants and landlords.

Unisys will also provide an interface for property management software systems so that landlords and property managers can lodge bonds directly from their systems. The automotive business system is likely to improve the experience of tenants and landlords, thus enhancing their business opportunities while reducing unnecessary work for the Ministry's call centre at the same time.

Based in Blue Bell, PA, Unisys specializes in helping clients to secure their operations, increase efficiency and utilize their data centers, enhance support to their end users and constituents, and modernize their enterprise applications. The primary market that Unisys serves worldwide includes financial services, communication and transportation, commercial and public sector, including the U.S. federal government.

Unisys currently has a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy). Other stocks that look promising and are worth a look include EPAM Systems, Inc (EPAM) carrying a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy), and Barracuda Networks, Inc. (CUDA) and Infosys Ltd (INFY), both carrying a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy).
