Air Products to Feature Epoxy Curing Agents at CAMX

Zacks

Air Products & Chemicals Inc. (APD) announced that it will showcase epoxy curing agents and accelerators at the CAMX, the Composites and Advanced Materials Expo, in Orlando, FL, from Oct 13-16.

Air Products' expertise with high-performance epoxy curatives and specialty resins has led to the development of customized curing and process performance in filament wound, resin infused, resin transfer molding and wet layup composites.

Ancamine 2903 curing agents have longer pot life than conventional cycloaliphatic amines and can provide higher chemical resistance, while Ancamine 2904 curing agent displays moderate pot life with speedy cure ability and generates low exotherm to increase production throughput. Both of these agents have been contrived to cure liquid epoxy resins while delivering optimum processing and thermal performance.

Air Products provides a wide array of curing agents and accelerators that are designed to meet most challenging cure profiles and performance targets in both 1K and 2K systems. The products provide high performance in terms of low-temperature reactivity, high-glass-transition temperature, low wet-out viscosity, high strength retention and high chemical resistance. They also meet the cost-in-use challenges as per customer expectations.

Air Products expects its strategic actions, including productivity improvement, better asset utilization, disciplined project execution and cost management initiatives to drive earnings growth in fiscal 2014. The company anticipates stronger momentum in the second half of the year.

Air Products currently carries a Zacks Rank #4 (Sell).

Better-ranked stocks worth considering in the chemical space include Valhi Inc. (VHI), LyondellBasell Industries N.V. (LYB) and Akzo Nobel NV (AKZOY). While Valhi carries a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy), LyondellBasell and Akzo Nobel have a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy).
