Williams-Sonoma Opens West Elm Store in Birmingham

Williams-Sonoma, Inc. (WSM) recently announced the opening of its first West Elm retail store in downtown Birmingham, MI. The store will debut with the fall 2014 collection, including exclusive designs for lighting, and handcrafted products from Haiti, India, Peru and the Philippines. Moreover, the store will offer a local assortment of home products, especially designed by Michigan-based artisans.

Williams-Sonoma is a multi-channel specialty retailer of premium quality products for home and West Elm is one of the iconic home furnishings brands of Williams-Sonoma. The brand offers personalized products designed by the company’s team of artists and designers including branded furniture, bedding, bathroom accessories, rugs, curtains, lighting, decorative accessories, dinnerware, kitchen essentials, and gifts.

Williams-Sonoma has been consistently adding new stores in order to drive sales. Last month, the company announced the opening of the West Elm retail stores in Kansas City, MO and Oklahoma City, OK. In Jul 2014, the company introduced its first Pottery Barn and Pottery Barn Kids stores in Southeast Asia. These stores are located at Central Square, Bonifacio High Street, Manila, Philippines.

Later this year, Williams-Sonoma intends to open eight new stores in Australia and new West Elm stores in UK. The company also intends to launch Pottery Barn and Pottery Barn Kids fully-integrated websites in UK.
