Sprint Launches Unlimited Talk, Text and Data Plan for $60

Sprint Corporation (S) recently launched its new unlimited Talk, Text and Data plan for $60 per month. Starting from Aug 22, the plan can be availed by both existing and new customers.

However, to avail the new plan, customers need to purchase the mobile device through Sprint Easy Pay, pay full retail price or have their own compatible device. While the new plan definitely remains accretive to the company’s revenue growth, it is also competitive to T-Mobile US, Inc.’s (TMUS) unlimited plan which comes at $80 per month.

Recently, Sprintlaunched Sprint Family Share Pack by which it claims to offer double the high-speed data at a lower price than AT&T, Inc. (T) and Verizon Wireless – a subsidiary of Verizon Communications Inc. (VZ)

Sprint is focusing on revenue growth in the core Sprint platform business. With regard to prepaid, Sprint’s multi-brands like Boost Mobile, Assurance Wireless and Virgin Mobile as well as innovative offers like $50 Monthly Unlimited plan with Shrinkage, Beyond Talk plans and Broadband2Go are making significant contributions to the company’s subscriber growth.

Additionally, the company offers the popular iPhone through its no-contract prepaid Virgin Mobile brand and WiMAX service via both prepaid Virgin and Boost Mobile. Sprint also offers Unlimited Guarantee plan that provides unlimited data at $30 a month on smartphones and $10 per month on other phones including voice and text service at $50 on the first connection.

Sprint registered a surge in its service revenues thanks to the introduction of new pricing plans such as Unlimited, My Way and My All-In plans that include the scope for unlimited talk, text and data. In addition, the company has also gained considerably from its plan, Sprint One Up, which offers unlimited talk, text and data along with an option for smartphone upgrade every 12 months. In Jan 2014, the company launched it new service plan – Framily – that allows customers to form groups and lower their costs by as much as $25 per month. Sprint’s new service includes unlimited talk and text and 1 GB of data.
