Williams-Sonoma, Inc. (WSM) opened its first Pottery Barn and Pottery Barn Kids stores in Southeast Asia in partnership with Store Specialists, Inc. These stores are located at Central Square, Bonifacio High Street, Manila, Philippines.
Pottery Barn and Pottery Barn Kids are two of the company’s iconic brands. Pottery Barn offers premium products in the form of furniture, bedding, bathroom accessories, rugs, curtains, lighting, tabletop, outdoor and decorative accessories. Pottery Barn Kids offers products for decorating nurseries, bedrooms and play spaces.
The stores will debut with the summer 2014 collection. The collection includes exclusive designs for home furnishing products, textiles, accessories and entertaining essentials. These products have been designed by in-house designers and craftsmen at Williams-Sonoma.
The stores also incorporate a Design Studio, where customers can receive assistance from trained professionals. This professional assistance is a complimentary service, which enhances the shopping experience for buyers. This personalized service has been one of the driving forces behind the better-than-expected results in the last reported first quarter 2014.
Williams-Sonoma’s expansion in Southeast Asia is in line with the company’s strategy of international expansion. Besides the United States, the company already has retail stores in Canada, Puerto Rico, Australia, and the United Kingdom. The company also offers franchise opportunities to third parties in some countries in the Middle East.
Later this year, Williams-Sonoma intends to open eight new stores in Australia and new West Elm stores in UK. The company also intends to launch Pottery Barn and Pottery Barn Kids fully-integrated websites in UK.
