Leading semiconductor manufacturer ANADIGICS, Inc. (ANAD) recently disclosed that its AWL9293 and AWL9581 802.11ac front-end integrated circuits (FEICs) have been selected by Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd.’s (SSNLF) latest GALAXY Tab Pro tablets for enabling WiFi connectivity.
The FEICs combine a high performance power amplifier (PA) with low-noise amplifier (LNA) and RF () switch on a single die. In addition, the products feature greater integration capabilities compared to other variants available in the market, which in turn saves valuable printed circuit board (PCB) space. The new FEICs also offer low error vector magnitude (EVM) and noise figure performance, which enables high data transmission rates. These new chips have also helped Samsung to maximize battery life while increasing data speeds, thereby offering superior user experience.
Anadigics continues to support higher data usage and proliferation of high performance WiFi connectivity in mobile devices and tablets to expand its market position. Incremental demand for enhanced wireless connectivity in consumer devices, including smartphones and tablets, provide substantial growth opportunities for Anadigics.
