Broadcom's BCM7583 HD SoC will be the first deployment by the semiconductor company in the growing Chinese market. Broadcom’s satellite set-top boxes consume less power and enhance the overall experience of the subscribers. The integrated full band provides advanced remote diagnostics which help operators to reduce costs.
The cost-optimized system on chips deliver advanced multi-tuner experiences for cable systems globally. It helps cable operators to offer both broadband Internet access and video on demand services. Broadcom’s business is expected to expand on the back of growing volume of television content and interactive services available for home entertainment.
Analysts expect the Asia Pacific region to add 420 million new pay TV households by 2018 and the largest telecom operators in China are actively deploying technologies to deliver these services in key markets.
