Fujifilm Eyes Growth Through Portfolio Boost

Diversified technologies provider Fujifilm Holdings Corporation (FUJIY) has been attempting to boost its business banking on product launches. In accordance, the company recently launched various products that include new cameras and variants of lenses.

Fujifilm added more digital cameras to its existing list of ‘X’ and ‘FinePix’ digital camera series. The company intends to display the cameras at the 2014 The International CES, Las Vegas, USA.

Additionally, in response to the strong market demand, the company has launched the first weather-resistant bridge camera, FinePix S1. The dust and water resistant body includes full HD movie function, 50x image-stabilized optical zoom lens and wireless communication.

The company also launched the new FinePix XP70, which is dustproof, waterproof, freezeproof and shockproof. The camera features wireless connectivity with smartphones and tablets. The introduction of this product enables buyers to capture pictures in wet conditions, a feature missing in other cameras.

The launch of FinePix S8600 bridge camera was also among the host of products launched recently. This camera includes a 36x FUJINON zoom lens and a 16 megapixel 1/2.3-inch CCD sensor, along with many other features.

Fujifilm also launched FinePix S9400W and S9200 bridge cameras, both with 50x optical zoom lenses, which enable better picture quality. While both the cameras have a new image stabilization system for movie recording, a selection of creative filter effects and Full HD video capture, the S9200 also has Wi-Fi connectivity.

Not only cameras, but the company has also added five new variants to its X mount lenses. Also, Fujifilm announced the release of the FUJINON XF56mmF1.2 R lens. The company also enriched its product offering through an all black version of the FUJIFILM X100S.

The company has been launching products ranging from lenses to printers to cameras. In order to benefit from the capacity for growth of the lens business, the company began operations at its new optical lens factory, FUJIFILM Optics Philippines Inc., in Jul 2013.

Fujifilm currently carries a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy). Other stocks worth a watch in the industry include Advanced Energy Industries, Inc. (AEIS), Finisar Corp. (FNSR) and Alliance Fiber Optic Products Inc. (AFOP). While Advanced Energy and Finisar carry a Zacks Rank #1, Alliance Fiber Optic holds a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy).
