Orkin Opens Franchise in St. Lucia

Rollins Inc. (ROL), a major consumer and commercial services, recently announced the opening of an international franchise in St. Lucia, Caribbean islands, through its wholly-owned subsidiary Orkin, LLC. Establishment of these franchises has enabled Orkin to strengthen its foothold in the Caribbean.

Atlanta-based Orkin is a leading pest-control services provider, for pests like termites, insects and rodents. Apart from the U.S. operations, Orkin’s services extend overseas to Canada, Asia, Europe and Mexico. Moreover, the company has collaborated with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and eight major universities to conduct research and spread awareness about pest-related health hazards.

The newly established international franchises of Rollins is expected to offer quality commercial and residential pest control as well as termite control services to local customers. Orkin will provide initial training to the franchise owners from its headquarters in Atlanta.

Lately, Orkin has been acquiring new franchises to expand its international presence. In August this year, the company opened two franchises, one in Erbil, Iraq and the other in Trinidad and Tobago, an island country off the northern edge of South America, to build its presence in the Middle East and the Caribbean.

Moreover, in May, Orkin set up a franchise in Guam, a territory in the U.S. The franchise is owned by Dewan Worldwide, Inc., and provides services to both homeowners and businesses.

Orkin’s parent company, Rollins, is based in North America and operates through its wholly-owned subsidiaries such as Orkin Canada, HomeTeam Pest Defense, Western Pest Services and The Industrial Fumigant Company.

Other well-positioned stocks in the Business Services sector include Barrett Business Services Inc. (BBSI), Corporate Executive Board Co. (CEB) and Booz Allen Hamilton Holding Corp (BAH). All of these have a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy).
