PepsiCo Canada, a unit of PepsiCo, Inc. (PEP) recently introduced Quaker branded Harvest Crunch Quinoa Granola Bars to serve as a wholesome snacking option.

Quaker offers several healthy food products like Quaker Instant Oatmeal, Quick Quaker Oats and Quaker Chewy granola bars. Quaker’s new product, the sweet and salty Harvest Crunch Quinoa Granola Bars contain real ingredients like quinoa, 100% Canadian oats, wheat, brown rice, almonds, sunflower seeds, peanuts and milk chocolate. Harvest Crunch Quinoa Bars contain 9 grams of whole grains per serving and comes in chocolate Nut Medley flavor.

With growing health consciousness, snacking at regular intervals is gaining importance. The latest addition to the product line is expected to appeal to the health conscious Canadian consumers.

Product innovation plays a huge role in the company’s success. PepsiCo regularly creates new flavors of existing products as well as maintains a robust pipeline of new products.

PepsiCo intends to grow its nutrition business through brands like Quaker, Tropicana and Gatorade to reap benefits from shifting consumer preference toward good-for-you and health and wellness products. The company is also exploring new categories like dairy with the Wimm-Bill-Dann acquisition in Russia, the joint venture with Almarai in the Middle East and Muller Quaker Dairy joint venture in the U.S.
