Jacobs Wins NRA Deal

Keeping in motion its growth trajectory, the engineering and construction company, Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (JEC), has secured another contract from the National Roads Authority (NRA), for an undisclosed amount.

The contract requires Jacobs to conduct health and safety site inspections on the road network in Ireland. Per the contract, Jacobs will also provide corporate support for occupational health and safety initiatives.

This is not the first time that Jacobs has entered into a contract with the NRA. Back in Mar 2011, Jacobs was awarded the role of a consultant by the Authority for providing design and environmental services for the N8/N25 Dunkettle Interchange Improvement scheme.

Ireland is proving to be a vital source of revenues for the company. In the quarter ended Jun 2013, Industrial & Other segment recorded a hike in revenues due to a rise in sales in the High-Tech market in Ireland. In June this year, Jacobs received a contract from the National Transport Authority (NTA), Ireland to supply transport modeling expertise for NTA’s role in the development of an integrated transport system in the Greater Dublin area. The contract value remained confidential.

With the contract, Jacobs proves its strategy of growing through repeat business. In the fiscal third quarter of 2013, the company generated 94% of the business through repeat clients.

Jacobs currently carries a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold). Other stocks to consider in the industry include Michael Baker Corporation (BKR), VSE Corp. (VSEC) and Winnebago Industries, Inc. (WGO). While Michael Baker carries a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy); VSE Corp. and Winnebago carry a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy).
