General Mills Inc.’s (GIS) popular brand Betty Crocker recently launched new dinner options — Helper skillet dinners and Betty Crocker potatoes.
Helper skillet dinners comprise Ultimate Hamburger and Chicken Helper. Hamburgers include Creamy Stroganoff and Three Cheese Marinara whereas Chicken Helpers come in Cheddar Broccoli and Creamy Parmesan flavors.
A number of recipes have been created using the Ultimate Hamburger or Chicken Helper. Each of these brings together spices, vegetables, herbs and savory ingredients to prepare home-style meals.
Betty Crocker Ultimate Potatoes offers three new varieties of potatoes. Ultimate Potatoes are made of real potatoes and cheddar sauce.
With changing consumer preferences, there is a huge demand for new products that are both tasty and healthy. These products target the growing number of health conscious consumers who understand the importance of home made food and prefer easy cooking given their busy schedules. These consumers are also conscious of the nutritional value of packaged food products.
Since General Mills has been striving to improve the nutrition profile of its products, these include healthy ingredients like vegetables, chicken, cheese, herbs and spices. These easy-to-make dinners make home cooking easy and are expected to appeal to health conscious consumers.
