SALT LAKE CITY, June 11, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ — After 15 years of investing in early stage companies in and around Utah, Damon Kirchmeier has joined Auxano Funding as a Managing Director. Damon brings with him extensive experience in funding and helping grow startup businesses. Damon began his investing career in 1997 with InnoVentures Capital specializing in fast growing early stage ventures. During his career, Damon has invested in more than 80 new companies including ProPay, Listen Technologies, and Zeal Optics. In addition to investing in the companies, he has served on the boards of several of the companies and been advisor to many.

Damon began his career in nuclear engineering which has served him well in the technical and fast paced environment of early stage investing. Damon holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Oregon State University and an MBA from the University of Utah. He is also a graduate of the Naval Nuclear Power School in Orlando, Florida and is the current Honorary Commander of the 421^st Fighter Squadron – the Black Widows.
