Hylant Acquires Two Benefit Consulting Service Groups In Tennessee

Acquisition will expand Hylant’s services and employee benefit consulting expertise

PR Newswire

TOLEDO, Ohio, Jan. 16, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Hylant, one of the nation’s largest privately owned insurance brokerage firms, announced today that it has acquired Nashville, Tenn.-based Benefit Consulting Alliance, LLC (BCA) and Benefit Outsourcing Group, Inc. (BOG).

“This partnership will allow us to continue to build out and add strength to our existing core services and capabilities,” said Kim Riley, president of Hylant’s Nashville office. “It also demonstrates our commitment to the Nashville market and the need for employee benefit consulting expertise.”

BCA and BOG offer employee benefit consulting services to commercial clients in the middle Tennessee area. As part of the acquisition, Wayne Emery and John Maple, partners of BCA and BOG respectively, will join Hylant’s Nashville leadership team where they will add to Hylant’s momentum in Nashville and throughout middle Tennessee. Hylant’s Nashville office focuses on providing employee benefits, risk management and commercial insurance services.

“This merger allows BCA/BOG to develop and grow our service model for our clients with greater access to resources that are required in today’s challenging environment of Healthcare Reform,” said Emery.

Maple added, “We are very excited about becoming part of Hylant’s Nashville team and the expanded opportunities that we can now provide to our existing client base. This ranges from additional employee benefit resources to the depth of commercial specialization Hylant offers; including property & casualty, international, executive risk, medical risk, transportation and more.”

Emery has been a partner with BCA since 2001. He is active in the Middle Tennessee Employee Benefits Council and serves on the Broker Advisory Council for Aetna and United Healthcare.

As a partner with BCA and BOG, Maple possesses nearly 30 years of experience in the employee benefits realm. Maple currently holds designations as a Registered Health Underwriter (RHU) and as a Heath Insurance Associate (HIA).
