Investigative Advisory Group was founded by former FBI agent Thomas J. Cowley, who brings 30 years of investigative, compliance, and security experience in the public and private sectors. Mr. Cowley will lead Guidepost’s Los Angeles Office as a Senior Managing Director, and complement Guidepost’s San Francisco and Oakland offices.

Prior to founding Investigative Advisory Group, Mr. Cowley held senior positions in leading international security and investigative consulting firms. Over a ten-year career as a Special Agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Mr. Cowley conducted and directed criminal cases targeting white-collar crime, organized crime, labor racketeering and narcotics traffickers. Earlier, as an Investigator for the State of New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, Mr. Cowley was responsible for tracing the source of funds to be invested in prospective Atlantic City casinos.
