Funds to deliver the investment capabilities of Invesco’s global operating platform to help meet the growing needs of retail and institutional investors for ‘go anywhere’ equity strategies

PR Newswire

HOUSTON, Aug. 6, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — Invesco today announced the launch of Invesco Global Opportunities Fund (IAOPX) and Invesco Select Opportunities Fund (IZSAX) as strategic additions to its U.S. open-end mutual fund equity product line.

Invesco Global Opportunities Fund is the first Invesco mutual fund available to U.S. retail investors managed by investment professionals at Invesco Perpetual, one of the largest independent investment managers in the UK. The fund will be managed by Perpetual’s Global Equity Group, led by Perpetual CIO Nick Mustoe.

The Fund’s management team places an emphasis on stock valuation, searching more than 40 markets around the world for compelling investment opportunities regardless of geography, market capitalization, sector and style. Those opportunities are subject to fundamental research and are then vetted through a rigorous process of dialogue and debate resulting in the construction of a concentrated portfolio with 40-60 holdings.

Invesco Select Opportunities Fund will be managed by a three-person team led by Rob Mikalachki, Head of Small-Cap Equities for Trimark Investments at Invesco Canada.

The Fund invests in a portfolio of small capitalization companies from around the world with demonstrated growth potential that are attractively priced relative to their prospective earnings and cash flow. Fund managers view themselves as business people buying businesses and consider the purchase of a stock as the purchase of an ownership interest in a business.
