POPLAR BLUFF, Mo., July 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — Seven Peaks, a leader in family entertainment and recreation, announced today that it has acquired Splash Down Dunes Water Park in Porter, Indiana, and will be renaming it Seven Peaks Waterpark Porter. Located at 150 E. U.S. Hwy 20, Porter, IN 46304, the venue represents Seven Peaks’ fourth water park to date and its first destination in Indiana. The park will also serve the greater Chicago land area as well as southwestern Michigan.

“We are excited about the acquisition of our new Porter Indiana location and the chance to reopen the water park for guests throughout the tri-state area,” said Gary Brinton, CEO of Seven Peaks. “As Seven Peaks dramatically enhances the property and beautifies the surrounding landscape, we hope local residents will be delighted with the outcome and the positive impact on the community.”

The water park, which was closed by the previous owners in 2009, includes a wave pool, lazy river, four speed slides, four body slides and four tube slides, plus two water play areas for children. Seven Peaks will be making improvements to the water park in time for its grand reopening in summer 2013. As with other acquisitions, Seven Peaks will implement best practices in the areas of check-in, park safety and security, food quality, and water comfort. The new venue will receive a new theme in the future, and attractions and park systems will be updated and refurbished.

Seven Peaks Waterpark Porter is our second theme park acquisition in a month—having most recently purchased a combination water park and fun center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri—and represents Seven Peaks’ continued expansion into the Midwest,” said Brinton.
