STAMFORD, Conn., Jan. 10, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — FUJIFILM Medical Systems U.S.A., Inc. is pleased to announce that beginning, January 1, 2012, FUJINON, a leading provider of endoscopy equipment, became an integrated division of the diagnostic imaging and medical informatics company. The addition of FUJINON will strengthen and diversify the overall medical product line while streamlining and improving business efficiencies. FUJINON had previously operated as a subsidiary of the medical systems company. This merger will result in a larger, stronger company that will aide in the development of an even greater variety of high quality diagnostic imaging systems.

Under the new structure, the FUJINON brand will remain in place and build upon the already expanding Fujifilm medical systems portfolio. FUJINON’s advanced technologies include the first commercially available flexible video endoscope, the first high-resolution CCD Super Image flexible video endoscope, the first High Definition flexible endoscopes, and the only endoscopic system, Double Balloon Endoscopy, capable of reaching the entire small bowel. The endoscopy division will be the latest addition to Fujifilm’s line up to provide renowned image quality.
