CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Sept. 27, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — EVTV, producers of the weekly “Friday Show,” announce Brandon Hollinger of Lancaster, PA winner of the EVTV Build Your Dream Car electric car components contest that was held at the Electric Vehicle Conversion Convention (EVCCON) held in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, September 21 – 25, 2011.

Ten finalists competed for the $20,000 component package including a NetGain Technologies Warp9 motor, an EVnetics Soliton1 controller, fifty 180 amp-hour CALB lithium-ion batteries, a Masterflux electric air conditioning kit and a Rechargecar Warp speed sensor.

Brian Noto, co-producer of the EVCCON said, “Winning this contest was no easy task. Brandon was selected as one of ten finalists out of nearly 1,000 entries during the year long vetting process. Then he had to convince our viewers, who had the final vote, that his project was worthy.”

“I feel extremely humbled and honored to have won the batteries and conversion components, especially coming from a non-technical background,” Hollinger said, “because we are all similarly eager to share the ‘EV message,’ the other finalists felt more like family than opponents.”

Hollinger noted, “Jack Rickard, producer of the event and the other sponsors of the contest have given me a great jump-start on my fourth conversion… a London Taxi. I hope to somehow make the taxi available to the public as a limo or shuttle so they can experience first hand the elegance of electric drive. As Jack says ‘To know one is to want one.'”

Dates for next year’s Electric Vehicle Conversion Convention have been set for September 26-30, 2012 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
