The news comes seven months after DEG acquired We Do Commerce, a Pittsburgh-based ecommerce firm and Salesforce Commerce Cloud partner. The two additions position DEG—along with the agency’s more than 15 years of ecommerce experience—as one of the largest independent ecommerce and cross-cloud Salesforce agencies in the country.

“Moku is one of the nation’s leading ecommerce consultancies, delivering tremendous work for best-of-breed clients in the retail and consumer goods industries,” said Dale Hazlett, CFO and Co-Founder of DEG. “Bringing in Moku to our already successful teams further strengthens our core proposition as a true end-to-end agency that effectively fuses creativity and technology to allow brands to engage their customers at every step of their journey.”

Founded in 2013, Moku has developed customized direct-to-consumer commerce solutions for national and global retail and consumer goods brands, including New Balance, Fender, MCM Worldwide, Museum of Modern Art, Columbia, and more.

“This is a great fit and we couldn’t be more excited to join an agency like DEG,” said Ben Noonan, CEO of Moku. “The ability to combine our ecommerce expertise with DEG’s cross-channel strategies will allow our clients to make the most of every interaction with their customers.”

The acquisition of Moku will add experts in North America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific regions, increasing DEG’s rapidly growing staff to 288. Moku CEO Ben Noonan and CTO Mark Rubin will remain in ecommerce leadership roles at DEG.

Trending with a three-year growth rate of 87 percent, DEG continues to develop innovative strategies to enhance the experience of its clients’ customers. DEG’s latest work includes developing a chatbot for retail client Beauty Brands to simplify the shopping experience during the holidays. The bot leverages the Facebook Messenger application to provide personalized recommendations, along with the best offers of the season.

DEG has now acquired three companies in 2017, extending its creative and ecommerce capabilities, as well as its geographic reach. The company acquired award-winning creative content studio Hint, as well as We Do Commerce, earlier this year.
