JetBlue Introduces Flights, Adds Routes from Long Beach Hub

Zacks

Low-cost carrier JetBlue Airways Corp. JBLU has decided to step up flight frequencies at its Long Beach Airport (“LGB”) to boost operations at the hub as well as to target Southern California-based cities. Moreover, the carrier will offer non-stop flight service to a dozen new locations from LGB.

Availability of three new slots, along with higher utilization of the existing ones, encouraged JetBlue to expand its service.

JetBlue will also start daily non-stop service to Reno-Tahoe International Airport (“RNO”) from Aug 15, 2016. An introductory fare of $59 for one-way travel will be available to passengers till Mar 24, 2016. Reno’s stunning landscape surrounded by mountains, lakes and ski resorts makes it one of the most favorite tourist destinations. The new flight service will streamline connectivity between Southern California and Reno, thereby driving tourism.

Based on an increase in customer demand, JetBlue intends to initiate additional daily flights on several existing routes between Long Beach and the Bay Area. Also, JetBlue will start an additional daily flight from LGB to Francisco International Airport (“SFO”) from Aug 15, 2016 and to Oakland International Airport (“OAK”) from the following day.

Likewise, JetBlue will run an additional daily flight between Long Beach and McCarran International Airport (“LAS”) in Las Vegas from Aug 15, 2016. Las Vegas is extremely popular among tourists owing to the huge number of casinos and other entertainment options in the state. Hence, Las Vegas remains top priority for JetBlue, which will initiate five daily non-stop flights to the region from Long Beach.

JetBlue will fly 150-seat Airbus A320 wide-bodied jets on the routes. These airplanes boast better leg space along with unlimited free snacks and other refreshments. Moreover, passengers will able to enjoy the fastest in-flight Fly-Fi Internet service.

Hence, we believe that improved flight connectivity, coupled with low fares, will enhance traveling options for passengers. This in turn will boost revenues for JetBlue.
