Dunkin' Brands Group, Inc. DNKN recently launched a number of seasonal menu items just in time for the New Year. The Massachusetts-based quick service restaurant operator introduced Fudge Croissant Donut, Dunkin' Donuts' Caramel Macchiato and two varieties of Fruit Smoothies while bringing back the popular Chicken Apple Sausage Breakfast Sandwich.
The Fudge Croissant Donut is made with the brand's popular glazed croissant donut and a fudge filling, topped with chocolate and white icing. The company believes that this will be a hit among chocolate lovers.
Dunkin’ is also looking to boost its all-day breakfast platter with the Chicken Apple Sausage Breakfast Sandwich, to be available throughout the day. This sandwich will include chicken sausage, spices, real apple, egg and cheddar cheese served on an English muffin. Each serving will contain less than 400 calories to cater to health-conscious guests. Both the donut and the sandwich would be available from today for a limited time at select Dunkin' Donuts restaurants in the U.S.
The company is also introducing a number of beverages which would be served throughout the day. These include the Dunkin' Donuts' Caramel Macchiato, an espresso drink made with steamed milk, with a sweet caramel flavor, and a double shot of Dunkin' Donuts' freshly-brewed espresso.
The company also launched Strawberry Banana and Tropical Mango smoothies. With 260 calories or less, both the smoothies contain real fruit and low-fat yogurt, and would attract health-conscious customers.
Dunkin’ is continuously strengthening its product portfolio through innovations in coffee and refreshment, and enhancing its core food offerings. In our view, these seasonal menu offerings will not only tap into the thriving demand for coffee but also bring in the seasonal innovations — an important strategy to remain profitable in the highly competitive industry. The company is also introducing low-calorie items for those who prefer a healthy diet.
