Dr Pepper’s (DPS) Schweppes Dark Ginger Ale Hits Stores

Zacks

Dr Pepper Snapple Group, Inc. DPS launched the new Schweppes Dark Ginger Ale drink to spread holiday cheer. Schweppes Dark Ginger Ale blends in a bolder, darker and richer flavor with its traditional, refreshing ginger ale taste.

Schweppes Dark Ginger Ale is available in 2-liter bottles in northeastern U.S., New Jersey, New York and some regions in Pennsylvania. Other size variants are expected to be introduced in spring 2016.

Dr Pepper Snapple Group seems to have quite a few reasons to rejoice this Christmas. Shares of this beverage company have been on the rise ever since it reported better-than-expected third-quarter results on Oct 22. It delivered solid top- and bottom-line results in 2014 and so far in 2015 despite currency headwinds, rising volatility in the global markets, and declining demand for calorie-loaded sodas. Pricing gains, innovations, powerful marketing programs, strong performance of non-carbonated beverages, and productivity improvements primarily drove results in 2015.

Given the rising demand for non-carbonated beverages, recently launched Schweppes Dark Ginger Ale should be able to make solid contributions to the top line over the near term. Moreover, the holiday season witnesses increased consumer enthusiasm for trying new products and pampering themselves, which should drive sales during this period.

Dr Pepper carries a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy).

Other Stocks to Consider
