Premium diversified machinery company Nordson Corporation’s NDSN business unit, Nordson EFD, which manufactures precision fluid-dispensing systems, recently launched Unity HiTemp syringe barrels in the market. These 30cc barrels would serve to lower downtime as well as maintenance expenses that are commonly experienced in aluminum barrels widely used in pneumatic dispensing systems for hot molten adhesives.
Two models of these barrels are available in the market. One is an Extreme HiTemp syringe barrel that endures 180°C for 8 hours at up to 100 psi (7 bar) of pressure. It is useful for blocking UV light within 200–500 nm, polyamides and other different types of hot molten adhesives.
The other model is a standardized HiTemp syringe barrel that tolerates 125°C for 8 hours and up to 87 psi (6 bar) of pressure. It can be used in all types of hot molten adhesives, silyl modified polymers (‘SMPs’) and moisture-cure polyurethanes (‘PURs’).
Notably, both models are compatible with the company’s Optimum metal dispense tips, end-caps and adapters.
