Zeta Interactive Acquires eBay Enterprise’s CRM Division

Combined Company Creates a High-Growth Data-Driven Marketing Powerhouse

NEW YORK, Nov. 3, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — Zeta Interactive, the big data and analytics company whose SaaS-based platform helps leading brands acquire, retain and grow customers, announced today that it has acquired the CRM division of eBay Enterprise. This acquisition is concurrent with the sale of other eBay Enterprise businesses to a consortium of private equity firms, led by Sterling Capital and Permira.

This acquisition comes in the wake of Zeta’s recently announced $125 million fundraising round in July 2015, led by Blackstone Group’s GSO Partners. This deal furthers Zeta’s strategy to extend and enhance its people-based marketing platform through organic moves and targeted acquisitions. The combined company will service some of the world’s most recognized brands across the highest value verticals that include Retail, Financial Services, Communications, Automotive and Insurance.

“Combining the power of eBay Enterprise’s CRM businesses with Zeta’s highly rated people-based marketing platform is a game changer in the marketplace,” said David A. Steinberg, Zeta’s CEO and Co-Founder. “Together, we have an unmatched set of assets and capabilities to help leading brands improve their return on marketing spend across the entire customer journey, both cross-channel and cross-device. We look forward to continuing to work with the eBay Enterprise team and its new owners. We developed a strong working relationship through this process. We are guided by a shared passion to seamlessly transition the business and exceed the expectations of our clients.”

eBay Enterprise’s CRM division, which is headquartered in Burlington, MA, includes businesses that are recognized as leaders in the key elements of the data-driven marketing stack, an enterprise-grade ESP, a robust data management product and an automated attribution solution. These will be integrated into Zeta’s Gartner Magic Quadrant-rated platform. Zeta will continue to be headquartered in New York City and retain the CRM divisions offices in Burlington MA, Melville, NY, Columbus OH, Denver, CO, London UK and Singapore.

“David and his team have done an outstanding job of acquiring, integrating and scaling businesses that are more valuable in the Zeta platform than for a different owner,” said John Sculley, Zeta’s Co-Founder and Vice Chairman. Sculley, who was previously CEO of Apple Inc. and Pepsi-Cola, added, “We are delighted to add the talented team and exceptional client base of the CRM division to Zeta. This acquisition accelerates the already tremendous momentum we have in the marketplace.”

“This is a great outcome for our clients and employees,” said Regina Gray, Head of eBay Enterprise’s CRM division, who will be joining Zeta as a Senior Vice President at the close of the transaction. “I look forward to working closely with the Zeta team and speaking with our clients and partners about the benefits of the combined platform that will take our capabilities to a new level.”
