When streaming services — especially music streaming — are in question, family plans are quite popular for the obvious reason — economy.
No wonder, Spotify's family plans and Apple AAPL Music's family options are so popular!
Family plan is one great feature missing from Google GOOGL Play Music — but that is about to change.
Android Police reports that the search giant intends to announce a family plan for Play Music at the Nexus event today.
This event will likely provide further details about Marshmallow, witness a couple of Nexus device launches from LG and Huawei, and possibly shed some light on a new Chromecast. Going by the leaks and rumors, the new phone is likely to be Huawei’s ticket back to China. Chromecast 2 (or whatever the new device is named) will come in three colors and include faster Wi-Fi and “Fast Play” for speedy connections, as well as the ability to be directly plugged into a multi-speaker system.
In addition, Google will announce the family plan, priced at $14.99 a month, which will include unlimited music streaming for up to six accounts.
While Spotify’s family plan costs $29.99 a month for five accounts, Apple Music's family plan has the same price tag as Google's rumored plan.
Keeping that in mind, Apple Music and Google Play Music seem to be the most attractive choices for those with big families and not-so-deep pockets.
