Erickson to Train Uruguayan Air Force Pilots for UN Missions

Aviation services provider Erickson Incorporated EAC announced that it has entered into a contract with Chilcott, Inc. to provide flight currency training for the Fuerza Aerea Uruguaya (FAU or Uruguayan Air Force) helicopter pilots.

Per the agreement, Erickson pilot instructors will train Uruguayan Air Force pilots and prepare them to work on the United Nations Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO).

Instructor pilots will provide ground refresher training and more than 200 hours of supervised flight currency training on a Textron Inc. TXT Bell 412 aircraft at Erickson’s facility in McMinnville, OR. The training will be completed before scheduled U.N. mission pilot rotations in the third quarter of 2015.

Erickson has been selected to train Uruguayan pilots based on its expertise and core competency of providing full-range aviation services for legacy aircraft. Recently, it was selected by oil and gas company, Repsol SA REPYY to provide crew and cargo transport to the North Slope of Alaska (read: Erickson Inc. (EAC) Wins New Contracts in Alaska).

Besides providing training and transportation services, Erickson is also well equipped to control forest fires and save life and property. Erickson’s S-64 Aircrane is selected by National and Global Fire Officials for wildfire suppression. The improved S-64 Aircrane will help Erickson to control fire in the wild land-urban interface, where homes and businesses can be caught unawares in a forest fire.
