PPG Industries Launches Novaguard 810 Tank Storage Coating

PPG Industries' PPG protective and marine coatings business has launched the Novaguard 810 tank storage coating. The coating provides excellent resistance to a wide range of chemical and oil products.

The Novaguard 810 coating is solvent free and a single coat of it can provide the required protection to tanks holding crude oil, petroleum products, solvents and various chemicals. With Just one coat of its application the EI 1541 performance standards for protective coating systems used in aviation fuel storage tanks and piping can be met.

Crude oil can be stored at temperatures up to 90 C (194 F), and the coating cures at temperatures as low as 0 C (32 F) with an extended recoat window. The coating reduces application hazards and helps in lining of new tanks along with refurbishment of existing ones. The coating also has faster curing properties and allows the tanks to go back to service after painting while ensuring a smooth, light-colored finish that enables easy cleaning and inspection.

PPG Industries has a diversified business and a leading position in several paints and coatings end markets. Healthy momentum across automotive OEM, automotive refinish and aerospace markets is expected to support the company’s results this year. PPG Industries should also continue to gain from acquisitions.
