Ericsson ERIC penned a multi-year deal with BT Sport, which is owned by BT Group plc BT, to assist in designing, building and operating a range of new services in the U.K. for the latter. The latest contract expands the existing six-year collaboration of Ericsson and BT Sport 1 and 2 by three more years. Hence, Ericsson will continue to offer playout and media management and access services for both BT Sport channels.

Encouragingly, this contract underscores Ericsson’s proven proficiency in the broadcasting and media industry, in which the company had been focusing in order to strengthen its foothold via extending its technology to broadcasters.
