Following the grand success of WrestleMania 31, World Wrestling Entertainment WWE reported 31% growth in subscriber count, highlighting a significant increase from one million subscribers who had watched the previous Royal Rumble event.

The 31st annual WrestleMania professional wrestling pay-per-view event turned out to be the highest grossing live event in the history of the extravaganza. The company exceeded nearly 1.3 million subscribers for the event mainly buoyed by the free Feb 2015 promotion. The campaigns attracted nearly 201,000 trial subscribers and the count grew to 154,000 in the month of March. WWE also declared 918,000 average paid subscriber.

However, management declared that the official figures will be available in the first quarter 2015 financial report. The company will report its financial numbers on Apr 30, 2015.

WrestleMania 31 garnered $12.6 million from 76,976 viewers who had attended the flagship WWE event. Both the audience present in the stadium as well as the TV viewer count had reached an all-time high.

The frenzy took over and the event added as high as 665,000 new subscribers to the network last year. The WWE Network, which came into existence in Feb 2014, offers streaming access to all WWE shows, including all of the 12 live pay-per-view events for $9.99 a month.

In Jan 2015, the professional wrestling organization had reported a record 1 million subscribers. With the subscriber mark exceeding 1 million within a year of its launch, we believe WWE is poised for further record breakers going forward. Moreover, the success of the company’s flagship event is another huge positive.
